Leaving your starter in the hands of someone else’s care can be unnerving, to say the least. That’s why, here at Sourdough Spa, we understand that caring for your loved one is so much more than just a daily feeding of flour and water. We believe the synergy of attention to detail and diligent wellness techniques will leave your starter rejuvenated, energized, and flourishing.
Process
As each sourdough starter parent can agree, your starter is beautifully unique, not only in its aroma and flavor, but also the combination of cultivated yeast strains working together to produce a truly individual result. Every starter that visits, is given its own unique feeding cycle and treatment specified by you, the parent. Daily, your starter will be measured, exfoliated, and revitalized per your exact feeding regiment. Precise measurements are taken down to the exact gram of organic flour and 10th of a degree in water temperature. Flour and water are carefully massaged in with the preexisting starter to cultivate a beautiful homeostasis equilibrium.
Hydration
Being the fundamental building block of all life on this planet and making-up half of your starters entire existence, water is no subject to be taken lightly. Playing such an integral role in its survival, we ensure our water is up to the highest of standards. Only using water that has been slowly filtered through a complex filtration system where carbon and ion exchange resin works together to filter out and reduce impurities such as; chlorine, copper, mercury, cadmium, zinc and other particles that could be detrimental to your starters rejuvenating spa experience.
Environment
Nutrition is only part of what it takes to raise something truly beautiful. Environment plays an essential role happiness and wellbeing. By meticulously ensuring our spa is kept at a constant 23.8ºC (75ºF), provides the most ideal environment for your starter to thrive. During its stay, your starter will relax to the peaceful rumble of waves from the Pacific Ocean, enjoy poetry readings, daily conversations, and a soothing mix of Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart.
